A Quick Update on Book 5 and What’s Planned for the Proceeding Books in the Series.

3/19/2019

The good news is that book five is well on the way. I missed about three weeks dealing with a bunch of corrections for book one through four. By the time I got that settled, I came down with a nasty case of bronchitis that completely took me down for a good three weeks. I was able to get a little bit of writing in, but spent most of the time collapsed in bed. It seemed like I couldn’t stay awake for more than three hours straight. Finally though, I’ve started to feel better and the story is flowing out of me.

The good news is that I’m over 40k words into the story, but already I can see this is going to be another immense novel. It will cover the whole ‘rescuing Domenic’ from the PVP Alliance of Chaos Storm. While there is a lot of PVP action in the story, there is also a huge PVE (Player vs Environment) story going on within the world itself. I’m excited because of what that will bring into the series adventure wise, since the world is changing due to the decisions players are making in the training area.

Oh yeah, the training area which is called the Norden Region for being a part of Earth’s Nordic region and the entire current map is only the game’s training area. My current plan is for the base leveling range to be up to fifty for this area and basically players shouldn’t even leave the area until they’ve reached near that level. Outside of the training areas will be monsterville. Some monsters will be just that, individual monsters. Others will be tribes. There will even be entire empires of monsters that are living and doing their own thing within the world.

There are other training areas in the world. Basically any location that is a peninsula or an area that is off on its own. A good example of this would be Florida. These will be the other game start areas as the game opens up to the entire world to play. There is not set area for Europe, Asia or the Americas. Everyone will join where they happen to join that hasn’t filled up yet. The game’s world is a reflection of the Earth. I haven’t decided yet but I might make it an earth with the same continent structure that is basically 50x as large as our world. That part I haven’t decided yet, but it explains the Norden region and why it’s being used.

Story wise I have a good twenty novels if not more waiting to be written without any second thought. Many of the empires and cultures have already been formulated with more that are coming. I already have many of the cultures for Germany, Russia, Italy and Africa. That part of the adventure and exploration will continue while our intrepid heroes deal with old and new enemies. I’m really excited about some of these areas. I’ve been working on creating some awesome civilizations and slowly building the storylines to go with them. Some added fun will be mounts around level 40 or 50. Flying mounts around level 80 to 100 which will lead to a whole new development of flying races and civilizations. So yeah, there is really no end in sight as long as you’ll like the stories. (This isn’t for the trolls that like to keep a close watch on my sight, you can hate and not understand my storyline as much as you like. Thankfully, I have more than enough fans who love the storyline and adventures that I write.)

Some people have wondered why the leveling is so slow, but the truth of the matter is that the story is in the adventure and the exploration. Rushing to an imaginary end level to actually start playing the game seems to be all the rage nowadays. Old Dungeons and Dragons, Anarchy Online, EverQuest and World of Warcraft was about exploring the world. You leveled extremely slow which gave you time to go out and have an adventure and see the world. That in itself was the goal of these games. The idea that you’re living in these world. Not just hurrying up to the end content before you run to the next game.

You can think of Startum Ironwolf a little bit as the old Captain Kirk of Star Trek or Han Solo of Star Wars. He likes the ladies and he really isn’t put off by fur, green skin, pointy ears, tentacle hair, scales or extra arms and legs if they’re pretty and interested in him and vice versa. There had been some confusion about this to some readers, but I think for most Dungeons and Dragons or MMORPG players, this is nothing new. These games have always been about other races and species. It didn’t matter what male or female people were, everyone loved their orc, troll, tauren, minotaur, goblin, elf, dwarf, gnome and etc etc. There have always been Wolfkin, Foxkin, Batkin, and more that people have relationships with in a fantasy storyline or virtual kind of way. Maybe my choice of a centaur for a love interest was somewhat shocking to non-gamers, but it will definitely be part of the storyline in my world in one way or another.

There has been some comments about how could someone fall in love so quickly. I just chuckle whenever I hear the story. Many of the times this is being asked by people in their 40s and 50s. Obviously, they forgot how it was when they were in their early 20s. Everyone I know has fallen for someone in a matter of days. Felt that desire to marry this new person in their lives because they believe them to be their soulmate, only to find out a week later that there were personality differences that didn’t mesh as well as they thought they did. For better or worse, it happens to everyone at one time or another and is why Las Vegas has so many White Wedding Chapels. Luckily, most of us don’t fall into this type of trap, albeit a large number of people do every year.

Anyway, now that I’m getting healthy the storyline is flowing and I’ll do my best to get book 5 out as quickly as possible. Figure a few months J

Love your work. Not sure why but audible is blocking book 3 of the world or shows it as next but you can't download.

Hey Charles, book 3 is currently in production. The expected completion date is the 18th of April. You'll have to add on another 14 to 16 days for Audible to package up the audiobook and make it available. That will at least complete the first story arc. Book 4 will have a break of two months before Jason Hill starts producing it.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get it into his schedule before someone got ahead of me. I hope to have book 5 finished and in line to be produced as soon as Jason is finished with book 4. Book 4 is basically 2 books + 90 pages in length, so it is a long story full of crazy fun and excitement. Truly, I've not read anything like it on the LitRPG/GameLIT side.

Please leave a good review if you can. The IAK guild likes to hit my audiobooks too. Leaving your positive review helps to keep them at bay and as always, I recommend you do this for all the authors you like.

Charles,

Naw man, you rock. If not for fans like you, book 4 would have never been written and book 5 wouldn't be on the way ... nor would their be 20 books in the mental queue, so I thank you and everyone else who loves the series!

Thanks Steven, appreciate the good word. Book 5's battles are going to be intense. There is really no other way to write a PVP fight but thankfully it's coming along good. While I'm writing the story, I'm developing the world for the proceeding books. There is so many awesome fun species Star will be meeting. Sorry, I geeked out there for a moment.

Also, I'm glad you like the slower progression. It's the only way, I think, to really delve into the world. Besides, not writing everything that goes on seems like a waist. Star's always getting into the mix :)

I am an avid reader of everything from fantasy to horror and am new to the LitRPG world but I have been a long time gamer and RPGr.

I am honored to say that your story and the way you write and present your plot is a wonderful. I have no qualms at all in how you have set the stage for a truly amazing world to be born (yeah that includes the centaur love plot as well Ha-Ha).

You have made a true fan out of me and I am following closely for when I get to read your next book.

I have always lived by "The 1st page test" when reading books of this type (where if you cant keep my interest in the first page its rare i would enjoy anything there after). But do not fear your books pass that test each time i re-read them.

I want to say I really enjoy the long books and how well they draw me in to the story.

Keep growing this world and will keep passing along the good reviews to anyone that enjoys this type of genre (and even to those that don't)

Next time I re-read through ill keep a better list of any issues i may find to help you out on any grammar or mistyped items to better help you focus more on the emerging growth of the world, and less on having to spend too much time back tracking for errors.

Please keep up the great work, its greatly appreciated.

Adam, thank you for the good word and touching bases. Like I've said before, there is nothing better for an Indy Author to hear. To be honest, I have several fans that have been willing to lend a hand to make the corrections and then I go through and add them to the actual story. Partly that's because I don't want it to slow down the next book too much, albeit you'd be surprised just how much time applying someone else's corrections take. Also, I truly suck at editing. I do slowly learn as I work with fans that are helping to get better, but I'm afraid my then and than will never be good ;)

Glad you like the vision I have for the story. No matter what Fylreh is around and they are buds. You never know what the future holds, even though right now there is a war going on and Star has no time for emotional games. Then there is Helgath ... Miya and the Beastkin girls. I mean, those girls know he's attracted to them. Also, there are new civilizations that are just around the corner. Who knows what interesting ladies he might run into there.

The map of the world is slowly being built out nicely and I'm always coming up with new twists. I actually need to figure out when the flying races will show up. But, that's not till around level 100, so there is some time for that to happen yet. First we have to get mounts which show up around level 40 I think ... that or 50. Yeah, I'm excited about exploring the world too, heh.

I appreciate the support for allowing me to explore different storylines. It means a lot to me. Also, thanks for the review support. These guys have hit me in Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and big time in the USA. Especially now that they see the series is going on and on, now they're doing everything they can to block future books. So, everything helps and is appreciated.

When you've got some stuff for me to fix up, just shoot it to my email. Ha, and just know that The Dread Pack, trolling Adam is not you in the story ;)

Hey Liam, I just realized I have a swordsman NPC with your name in book 5 :)

I'm excited about bringing in the Australian & Russian guilds. The Russian guild is a shout out to D. Rus while the Australian guilds is a shout out for my fans in Australia. The series has done well there and I have a number of fans I've met from both of my series. Richard, a long time fan from Flight, is a gentleman I've talked to over Team Speak for a number of years now. The only thing was that I needed a good Australian sounding name. Unfortunately, Richard really didn't fit, so I borrowed the name Dangas from an Australian reader who left a review on book one. I always wonder what he thought when he read book four and saw his name.

American's typically have a love for Australians. Don't ask me why, but Aussies always just seem like real, down-to-earth people with an amazing accent and some of the hottest women on the planet ;) I joke, but you get my drift.

Both guilds play a big role in helping to get Domenic out of his mess and I'll do my best to hopefully bring the characters alive on both sides. Just forgive me if I borrow a little too much on popular expressions from each country. It's all from the heart and the desire to make them as Aussie as I can.

Well, this book has a chapter 1 that is basically a normal book in length, so the read should be awesome. I'm not sure if I'll be forced to split the books into two, but honestly, the story would be best told in one go and that's my goal. Like you, I love it when I read for a day and discover I'm only 20% into a book. Best feeling ever!

Hey Matthew, I just laughed out loud at that. Honestly, I wasn't trying to leave a major cliff hanger. I mean, he's now basically at the port and there's a huge story there. I guess everyone thought he'd have reached Domenic in book 4, but I was doing the trip to get there. I wanted it to reflect the run from the Night Elf area to Ironforge which I had to run numerous times to meet up with my friends.

You'll like book 5. I just got feed back on chapter one, which is the length of a normal sized novel and everyone is saying it sounds good. Just tweaking a few things right now on it. Let's just say the landing at the port of Darom was a huge pain in the ass ;)

Hey John, glad to hear you're liking the series. Ugh, I hate to be put on the spot about when the books going to be coming out. After book four fiasco, I know I suck at figuring out my writing time tables. I'm vaguely planning to have this finished in two months. While the story had initially scared me somewhat due to the complicated nature of the story and of massive PVP battles between players, NPCs, and monsters, I have so say everything is looking great so far.

Max time for me to be finished would probably be three months. Part of the problem is that I'm just writing the story. I'm not worry about page counts or how big the book is going to be. I'm just writing the story the best I can. Hell, the day of Book four and bringing everything together was easily another 30k words, which I typed out in a weekend like a typing fiend thinking the whole time .. i'm almost done ... i'm almost done.

Anyway, so I'm hoping to have it out in two months, possibly three. We'll see if I hit the deadline or not :)

Hi Jason!
I've been playing RPG for a long time and really enjoy the way you develop your plots, and the interaction between characters.
It's very good someone who doesn't see NPCs as expendable trash, to be used and discarded, and manages to make many different races interact naturally, including personal interaction and conflicts.
Keep up the wonderful work!
P.S.: I'm Brazilian, and so I'm very curious about new regions on the World!

Hey Cláudio,

Thanks for the good word that you're enjoying the series. If you want to see some of the real life friends that make up the players in my guild, you can do that here https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100007596607095 There's a bunch of our old LAN parity pictures, which is exactly where the intro to book 4 came from. Also, I have some notes and concept art I used for creating Fylreh, Helgath, and others.

When I look at where the story is going, I can't wait to explore the world myself. There's going to be some massive monster empires. The first significant one will be borrowed from Destiny in my other series. You've gotta love Minotaurs ;)

Thanks for the offer for editing help, that's always appreciated!

I'm working hard on book 5 and am finding myself tweaking parts of the story to make them better than good. Chela, Eric , and Steve are all helping to keep me on track so that the stories sound as best as they can be. Book 5 is turning into a ridiculous size. Trying to get it out as quickly as possible.

PS: If you can, please leave a good review on the books on Amazon. It helps indie authors like me a lot!

My wife has more family coming down, but my Polish isn't good enough for me to chat with them, so I'll be back to writing hard once my aunt flies on on Saturday. Tweaking small stuff for right now, while she's here ;) So far though, the story is sounding awesome.

Hey Jason,

Glad to hear about the progress on the book! I am definitely looking forward to reading the next installment and already started another re-read of the previous ones to make sure I am good and pumped for the next dive into The World.

The story makes me nostalgic for all the 1k's of hours playing RPGs so while I get caught up again on everything im replaying a bunch of my console RPGs to feed the need HA!

Reading the first entry into The World reminds me of rolling a new character for each abd every long term game ive played, taking it slow and finding every single speck of items/quests/EXP that i can farm from a location before moving on.

Love it, keep up the great work!

Hey Adam,

Thanks for dropping a line. Honestly, when I'm writing the story, in my head I'm playing my favorite MMORPG and these things just come out of the story. It's been feeding my own need to play, since the games out are so crappy. My beta readers were trying to get me to play Classic WoW, but I don't dare open that box up, Not if I want to write anyways ;)

Domenic, who is working on his own nightmare start story, was giving a hard time that I didn't die in book 4. I'm like, hmmm I usually didn't die whenever we played, which caused us to go into our old back and forth about him dying all the time and the rest of the team having to save his ass in like every game we played. I'm still laughing about it. Hence the storyline of, Saving A Friend. ;)

Book 5 is coming out nicely, but Chela, Eric, and Steve are having me tweak the story to be even better. The recent set of tweaks are awesome, but have been taking some serious time to work into the latest chapter I finished. Heh, and I thought that chapter was going to be short.

Anyway, I'm trying to make my personal deadline for book 5, but not sure if I'm going to make it or not. Promise, I'm working hard on it.

Hey Matthew,

Thank you for the good word. I always love to hear people are enjoying the series. The current plan is for a hundred books. I have the in-game level set at 200. With each level taking longer and longer to level up with, I imagine this shouldn't be a problem to reach. Even if we reach level 200, there are a lot of high end ideas I have. As long as everyone is enjoying the storyline, then I'll keep on writing the series.

It's funny, I didn't think I'd left a huge cliff hanger on book 4. I mean, yeah, he just got to the other side of the training area and had't landed yet, but I thought the spot was a good place to end the story for book 5. Now book 5 is like OMFGWOW kind of a story. I want to do a part 1 & 2 but it would make the cliff hanger ungodly, so I'm writing it out to the end and then releasing it.

I can only hope the "major-writer" thing will happen. My series are mostly advertised by "word of mouth" and so far that has been working quite well. Even, wit the constant attacks from the IAK. Who knows where it will end up going, but I'm excited in the direction it's going :)

Dang Jason these books are great right in my top 3 series of all time. I have got to say though that I like the story lines and the way everything meshes with each other to keep us going for more. I can't wait for more. I want your seires to be long because it is worth reading. I have seen authors get about 3-4 books in and slow down to a snail pace if not stop the book completely. I would love your books to not be the same I really hope you keep it up and enjoy it. I like also how you keep us updated on what's going on. I have you 5 stars on Amazon. Hey Stan,

I don't think that is going to be a problem. While book 5 is taking a little time to get out, it's going to be the longest book yet. So, while it's taking a little longer to get out, it's like releasing four books at once. Albeit, I was pretty sick for about 3 months, which slowed things down. Also, I have a wife and dog that had major surgery in that time too, and no matter what, that steals away some of your time.

Yeah I read the post credit! I am wondering what she has planned for the crew as everyone converges on Dom's castle, and how they will handle it.

I was really intrigued by the mysterious savior that appeared to help the Brat Pack, as well as what the company had in mind for their 'hotfix' to keep the starting areas safe from the PvP guilds.

All in all I was very impressed with how everything went and how it is progressing, ill make sure to drop you some grammatical corrections, and some stat sheet issue i noticed while i was doing my first read through.

Seriously though, thanks for the great work, love this series!

Jason,

Awesome, can't wait!

Ok so fun fact (sarcasm), went back and looked for my reviews of all five books, and low and behold none of them actually show up in the kindle review section.

I backtracked and in all the 'before you go' sections of each has the review I wrote but none actually got posted which was weird. Even a direct review on the store page wouldn't show as posted even though when I go to write a review again everything I wrote is already posted for each.

Don't know what the issue is but could have something to do with me having kindle unlimited alongside.

Just wanted to notify you to let you know since I noticed.

On a story note, (I'll try to keep this as spoiler free as possible not to ruin anyone's reading) wouldn't the true Enemies plans be somewhat thwarted now due to the edict pronounced right before all 'hell' broke loose? Unless their allegiances stay hidden they would immediately be 'branded' and set upon anywhere in Kader.

I know, I know, ill probably find out in book 6 but now im all excited lol.

Hey Adam,

I know if I don't do a long enough review in the Kindle App that my reviews don't show up. There is a point where it says, it can be uploaded now. It's a pain in the butt so I usually just do it directly with Amazon so I can leave a review the length I want.

Well, the of the Kingdom of Kader has been severely disrupted since Julie was in control. That somewhat get's fixed up, but there is the whole Orc invasion on it's way that the Chaos Storm alliance looks on as allies. I'm sure that will come into play in the future, but remember, it is only an exile in The Kingdom of Kader, not all of the Nordic Region. :)

Jason,

Does your map show a breakdown of that portion of the nordic region that everyone is at?

Be great to see and picture the top down view of that area around Kader where Star landed, to areas around Kader including their goal of reaching Dom etc.

Would give readers a nice mental map of the groups progress (and level up our own cartography skill haha). Just a suggestion as it helps immerse us readers even more into the journey with a bit of distance scaling as well as tension as the group approaches different 'landmarks' and locales.

Can't stress this enough, great Job! Top of my list, would love to see this turn into a series like '24' once all the novels are done, could be done in week increments to include enough content to truly enjoy the immersion.

Thanks!

Thanks Adam, I'll have to do up a map for my Patreon and Facebook members. I might add it here too, I'll just have to see.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the story. I'm still keeping things on the down-low until I know the IAK guild is aware of the new book. Until then, I'm keeping things quiet. Btw, the next book is already in the pipe ;)

I'm just looking for an update on book 5 and maybe approximate release date for audiobook?

Hey Joshua,

Jason Hill said he'd have this to me by end of next week. If he isn't late, I imagine it'll take 2 to 2 1/2 weeks for Audible to process the file and get it uploaded as long as the holidays doesn't slow the process down. So, sometime in the last week of this year if everything processes at its normal speed.

Jason
PS: At least it is another super long book. Also, I'm not sure where Jason Hill is going to put in the Post Credit scene. In the ebook and paperback book it is at the very end, but the audible book is obviously going to be different :)

Hey Ethan,

Both the ebook for book 7 and the audible book for book 6 are in the process of being created. The issue with Jason Hill and book 6 is that he's a full-time nurse who is being required to work a lot of overtime during this pandemic. Also, he said there are still two books ahead of me. So, there's not much I can do but wait for now until Jason Hill gets to book 6's audio.

Hey Gina,

Book 6 audible is in the process of being uploaded to audible. They had a complaint about the image for the cover and one of the pauses in a chapter. I have updated the image and Jason Hill is fixing the audible and then the book will be uploaded again for approval. It's unfortunately a slow process.

Book 7, the ebook edition, is still in the works but should be out soon :)

Book 5 is out for both audible and ebook, so if you're looking for that edition, it is available.

Hi Jason,

Just wanted to say... AWESOME!

Every time I see a new addition of The World hit kindle it turns into a marathon read where I can barely put it down till I am done.

Was worried that all these IRL world pandemic issues would have caused a bunch of delays but it seems everything is ok.

I am excited to see how Star's ex takes the news about what actually happened in the fortress as well as the how the PvPs deal with the new ' reality ' about their actual position with the invading orcs.

I do wonder if there is going to be a point where the company notices the inappropriate actions of one of their system admins and whether there will be fallout (and system character ban/rerolls) because of it.

It will start to get hectic once they finally arrive back to there home at the keep (hopefully in time for an epic throwdown with the hobs).

Once again keep up the amazing work, your hard work and attention to detail (as well as your word count which rocks!) is seriously appreciated and makes each book a serious page turner.

Thanks Adam. The heart attack, rehab, and getting my blood pressure pills re-set for my new condition has been giving me some issues, but I'm slowly getting it resolved and back into writing. I was wanting to get book 8 our sooner than six months, but I'm not sure how doable that is going to be. I'll just have to do my best. This book 8 is soooo complex and I can't wait to get all of the plotlines worked out =D As always, thank you for the good words and the support!
