Into The Breach, Book 9 of The World Series Has Just Been Released!

Book 9 has just posted on Amazon. The link is here:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VQ2X4J8/ref=sr_1_2?crid=7H0B7SG78JB9&keywords=Into+The+Breach+book+9&qid=1647449506&sprefix=into+the+breach+book+9%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-2

I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up about book 9 being split into two books,

The first half will be the book 9 that you’re currently reading, and book 10 will be the second half that I hope to have completed and out within a month or possibly two. That’s because book 9 was nearly complete when I discovered an issue with releasing longer books on Amazon as a self-publishing author.

When releasing book 5 of The World in German, I found out the hard way that Amazon only allows a self-published author’s paperback book to be 828 pages long. The only way I can counteract the restriction is to start producing shorter stories in the 400 to 500 range, which I would say is still a very large book for the litrpg/gamelit genre.

In the future, I will be able to plan a better-balanced story but this won’t work for splitting Book 9. The story is nearly completed so I’ve just decided to split the book down the middle as closely as I can. This was the best compromise that I could think to come up with. It also gives everyone a solid story to read right now which I thought worked out pretty well.

The good news is that this change will allow me to start releasing new books every three-to-four months. The bad news is that these stories won’t always be a full day. It will depend on the detailed action going on within the story arc at the time. The bigger battle scenes when Star is away from BrokenFang Hold will be more stretched out between multiple books, while at other times, Star will be exploring new locations in The World that will allow the story to encompass multiple days.

Thank you for the support. I hope everyone will understand and work with me on these slight publishing changes.

Hey Nathan,

Jason Hill was supposed to be finished February 1st of 2022. Obviously, he missed this date. He said he'd be done at the beginning of March and again missed the date. We had a long talk and I told him that I needed him to stick to his schedules or I'd have to go with someone else. He says he'll have book 8 completed by the end of March I hope so because I'm starting to feel like I'm at the end of my rope with this. I know listeners don't want me to change voices but I might have to try someone like Jeff Hayes from Sound Booth Theater or something.

Even if the book is released for me to approve at the end of this month, it'll be another 14 days at the earliest before audible approves everything and uploads the book. So, that's where we currently stand right now. Looking at mid-April. with my fingers crossed.

Jeff Hays is a beast. Would take a minute to get used to a new voice but it can be done. Jason really does an outstanding job but life happens and he may not be able to keep up now.

Im just one dude but i wouldn't be upset with a new narrator if the need come to pass.

Thanks Luke, I just need the books out consistently on time and so do the fans. I can tell having Jason take so long on book 7 really screwed up people following the series. I told him, I need the books coming out and if not, then I'll have to find someone else.

Hey Jason I'm listening to another series that Jeff Hays is doing and I think he would do an amazing job he has so much range, if you haven't heard the Dungeon crawler carl book he narrates? its great he really shows his range in that book series.

Hey Dan,

I did look into Jeff Hays as a replacement, but I do not have a large enough fan base to afford him as a voice actor. I actually did a lot of research on more favorite voice actors and they had long waiting lists and were very pricy and not open to a sales split. After that, I've become much more understanding of my two audiobook voice actors and their late time commitments.

Both Jason Hill on the English side and Bastian Scheibe on the German side have been months late on their deadlines for the books but they're both doing a great job and so I'm realizing that I need to be happy with what I have.

Great! I don't mind how they come out as long as they do. Now the wonderful problem of another book to be fitted in to the reading schedule. I love newpub, not having to wait 3/5 years for the next entry is amazing! I'll have a review up as soon as I'm done.

Thanks Scott, that's one of the things I love about self-publishing too. I can, for the most part, have the books as long or short as I want and have the control to tell the story that I want to tell. At least, as long as I don't go over the max limitations of Amazon's self-publishing options.

I just need to finish the last parts of book 10 and I can release it. I'd been hoping to have the entire book out by April 1st but now that I had to release two different books, that will push the date back a week or two. Also, now I have time to add more to the story and not feel the deadline weighing so heavily on me =D

Hey Andrew,

Ugh, I'm waiting for Jason Hill. He's slowly getting one chapter out every one or two days. He wants to work for the series and his voice is good. I did some research about possibly replacing him and it'll be tough to find someone willing to work with me on the series for a split commission. Not only that, if I go with someone else it would make book 8 take even that much more time.

I'm hoping that the shorter books that I'll be releasing in the future will help make this easier for Jason Hill to complete. Also, he dealt with some major personal shit in his life that was causing him problems in meeting the deadlines. I hope that means that future books will come out quicker.

Anyway, book 8 probably won't be released until the first of June if we're lucky. I'm doing the best I can to get the book out.

Hey Jac,

Book 9 was supposed to be released in September. It just depends if Jason Hill is on schedule or not. I'll try to get an update from him on the timeline.

Thanks, Ray. I do my best to tell a great story. Glad you enjoying the series and the Aussies too. Just a warning, book 9 had to be split up into two books. They're both in the 500 and 700 ranges with book 9 being the smaller. That was because Amazon stops self-publishers from printing a book over 828 pages. Still, both books are great and book 10's huge fight is just awesome all around. I'm working hard to get it released on Audible, but they've sent it back to me twice already to "fix" the cover in weird ways O.o Hopefully, this last time was the charm and it'll be approved in 15 days.
