WOOHOO BOOK FOUR is fiNIShed!

Okay, there is some work that needs to be done but the rough draft is finished. I have a day's worth of corrections to make that Eric has been sending me but I've left alone until I got to this point. I just sent him the final draft for him to correct and to let me now if I kept the ending good or not. Eric and Steven both get to let me know if I goofed up the enjoyment of the story too. So far I've been hitting it they both say, but there is so much that I have to bring together at the end between the fighting, crafting and world building that it's a lot. Once the book is out, I can start talking about some of the fun stuff coming down the line.

Honestly, I can't wait to get everyone's feed back on the story. My wife's friend has been telling me the last few times she's seen me that I look run down and tired. I have to truthfully say that doing a nine to five job forty hours a week and then writing until one or two o'clock in the morning and getting up at five thirty in the morning to get some more writing in takes its toll on you. But then, once I see the finished result of all that hard work and hear how much everyone loves the story, it makes all the work worth it.

Basically book four is almost two and a half books long. I'm just shy of that 210,000 word mark. So there is a LOT of story. I just added the first character sheet and equipment spam at the end which increased the word count by another three and a half thousand words. I'm so happy I didn't put that in throughout the story. I only added it to the end for those who were interested. It would have been annoying as hell otherwise. I think in the future I'll put one in at the beginning and one in at the end.

Tomorrow is one of my seventeen hour work days for my real IT job. So figure Wednesday I'll get the corrections in. I might or might not get the cover finished. I have to hunt down the area where I forgot to add three levels to every zombie I raised. That's going to be annoying as hell, but doable. I'm sure people will point out the mistake if they see any.

Once that is done, I should be able to upload it to Amazon and get it published. That can take anywhere from four to seventy-two hours.

Seriously, I apologize about completely blowing my guestimate for when the book would be out. I'd such high hopes on getting it out before Christmas, but now I realized that was never going to happen. Even today, I probably wrote out another thirty thousand words to make my own personal deadline for today. Every time I'd write something I discover there was a whole depth of the character interaction and story that just added to everything. I couldn't skip forward, I had to tell the story as it was. I hope everyone enjoys it.

I've been a little nervous about posting too much on my blog or facebook due to the group of writers who've been hounding me and trying to block my stories on Amazon and Audible. The one thing that has stopped them are the fans who have enjoyed the story and saw through their lives. Thank you. I'll start posting new updates online now.

I have read your book and the books of the person that made the false claim. I like both of the as they show different aspects of different games.

I did however notice this that Luke though trying to point a finger at you for your writings does not see how similar his story is to Edward Brody's book. The similarities that he has a pet panther and so does the main in Ed's books.

This does not make him a plagiarizer nor does it make you, similar does not equate to same.

As a reader and dabbling author, I know this as a truth the readers just want something great to read. It is like love there is no limit to the amount of love one can have or give and because one thing is loved does not mean there is not room for more.

Write your books and enjoy that telling of a tale you made and let the readers live in your worlds even if only for a short time, till they and I hungrily await the next.

Hope this helps and please get me another audio of the last three World books my eyes do not work so well anymore.

Good luck .
-Hank

Hey Hank, thanks for letting me know you enjoy the series and the good word. I definitely have the rest of the books in the pipe and as soon as I get book four published, I'll ask Jason to do book 4 as well so no worries there. When I brought it up to him, he was interested in doing the fourth installment.

It sounds like we have a similar perspective on book. I just want good stories and I read so fast that there is not enough book out in the style that I like for me to read. Also, especially in LitrPG and GameLit, there are a lot of similarities and that's fine. Many of us read in a genre because we are looking for a certain style of book, not exactly something completely new and innovative. We want a story that is fresh like a favorite old robe you put on when getting out of the shower.

I've always said during this whole shebang that if these authors shined the light like they do on my works back on themselves and their friends equally, this discussion would be quite different. The similarities across the board for many of these authors is laughable. I don't care personally, I just want good stories. But, if you're writing in an genre like LitRPG then don't act like you invented the concept and start bashing your competition. It's like saying you own the right's to using the term Dragons. To be honest, there is so much more we writers as a community could do together to grow the genre as a group instead of bashing anyone new who might challenge us to write better or more often.

For my part in this, I've done my best to just focus on writing unless something particularly harmful happens like my book is blocked. Sometimes it's frustrating to know my books would be almost 5 stars instead of a little over 4 due to the constant harassment, but as long as fans of the genre love the series, want more and keep these guys off my back by leaving their own reviews, I'll keep on writing.

I have been checking every day since finishing You're Going Down. I am so excited to be able to read through this one. I finished the first 3 in 4 days and am sure I won't be able to put this one down as well. I feel the way you have written this story with such a flow that I don't see much in other litRPGs.

Thanks Derek for checking in and letting me know you liked the series. You'll like book 4 especially because it's almost as much story as the first three books combined without training and without a bunch of character sheets, raid skills or endless lists of weapons, spells and quests. I think the change I made in displaying that stuff will be appreciated by those reading the story.

I've been struggling to find something new to read. Elliot Kay hasn't done any more of his Good Intentions Series, the newest book for The Land isn't out, I sped through Danial Black's book four and the next book for the Two Week Curse still isn't out. Nothing else is exactly grabbing me on the LitRPG side. Luckily the Star Force author gets a book out a month, but that lasts a whole day maybe.

I guess that means more time for me to work on book five which I have the cover finished for and a bunch of the story in my mind. I just have to build out the outline and start writing.

The one I read before this was good. I'm relatively new to the genre but Death March(euphoria online series) was my first series I read in the genre and it had me hooked. I was really excited to hear you are doing something different with the character sheet and look forward to see how it turns out!

Have you read anything by Michael Atamanov? He's got 3 good litrpg series. I loved your books and reviewed them all. Can't wait til book for and yeah I'm also waiting for the next book in The Land and Two Week Curse.

Hey Derek, just downloaded a sample of Death March to check out. Need something new to read. The character sheet itself will be the same but I'm not spamming it repeatedly throughout the story just to increase page count. I know the last popular book I read, I was looking forward to a lot of story and a long book and most of it was just spam of the character sheet, raid abilities, items and spells. By the end of the book, I was thinking 'Where the fuck was the story?'. Hence the change on my side for my own series.

Hi Jason,

First your series is amazing and I can't wait to get book 4.

You should try Dean Henegar's Limitless Lands, the only problem (like yours) is the patient (maybe not so patient) waiting for the next book but that is one reason that I love them.

Hey Jacob, just picked up the series. I have to get through this hospital / AI scene, but it sounds like once the book gets going that the story rocks :) Thanks for the suggestion.

Just powered through all three books in roughly 2 days, great story and good character build up, can’t wait for the next installment!

My ONLY complaint is repetion of stuff occasionally. Other than that, amazing series! Keep up the excellent work.

Hey Justin, thanks for the good word on the series. Yeah, I know sometimes I can rank, I think I mostly kept away from that in book 4. You'll have to let me know once you get a chance to read it. I'm hoping to have it on Amazon this weekend. As I'm applying the corrections from Eric, I keep getting pulled into the story and think, wow this is really freaking good.

Oh, if you haven't had a chance, please leave a review on https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H35XRLZ/ref=series_rw_dp_sw It means a lot to me!

Hey Aaron, glad you brought him up, I do like some of Michael Atamanov work. I just downloaded his Countdown: Reality Benders Series, Book 1. Just finished the corrections and am about finished formatting the text for the book. I'll finish up the cover in the morning and get book 4 uploaded to Amazon.

Just finished the first 3 books last night and reviewed them all this morning. Nice work Jason. Kindle just showed me my year in review and I counted more than 60 gamelit books, and yours were some of my top favorites.

Thanks for your hard work. Can't wait to start book 4,especially after reading your comments!

Hey Ben, thank you for the good word and the reviews on Amazon, that's so awesome. Half the reason I started writing LitRPG was because I couldn't find newer titles I really liked that was gritty, real and from a true gamer's perspective.

I just published the files to Amazon so it can show up between now and 72 hours. I was doing corrections until 2 AM last night and then fell asleep. Woke up this morning and had to redo a 120 pages because I wasn't sure how many times I dozed off while doing the corrections.

Hopefully it looks good. Can't wait to hear everyone's feedback!

You are awesome. I wish you the best, (selfishly) because I need you to be more successful so you can write books full time. The world needs more of your work. Reviews are the least I can do.

*refreshing Amazon every 5 min for the next 72 hours...

Really loved the first 3 books, having read them on the unlimited program. I just noticed you are offering the three book deal so I will be adding those to my permanent library as an incentive to you to keep cranking on this exchange series! Will also be buying the new book...

Thanks for the good word Mark. Appreciate the support, everything helps. I just uploaded the Kindle edition for book 4 and am trying to get the paperback uploaded now. You'll have to let me know what you think of book 4.

I threw an updated map in it and for the first time Kindle took the full size version of the map. WOOHOO! Also, I put in the character sheet, Startum's gear and a current character list at the end :)
